Bug Reports

Include your device model, OS version, App version, editing mode, input count, media source, and reproducible steps. For timer or gunshot detection issues, also note whether the recording includes automatic gain control (AGC), neighboring gunshots, echo or reverb, or a weak timer beep. Screenshots, screen recordings, or a short sample you choose to share can help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which devices are supported?

ShootingCut 1.1.8 supports macOS 26.0+, iPadOS 26.0+, and iOS 26.0+.

How many inputs does each editing mode accept?

Free Auto Trim takes exactly 1 video. Pro unlocks Merge for up to 20 sequential clips, Split Sync for exactly 2 simultaneous views, Stage Mix for 2–3 inputs labeled POV, Follow, or Static, and Strings Mode for one recording that contains several timed strings. Split Sync includes top-and-bottom, HUD, and Side by Side layouts; multi-angle top-and-bottom and HUD layouts support 50/50, 40/60, and 30/70 pane ratios.

What can affect timer or gunshot detection?

First confirm that the timer beep and gunshots are audible in the original track. Then review the analysis and adjust detection sensitivity, the timer marker, individual shots, the last-shot marker, or minimum split as needed. AGC, neighboring gunshots, echo or reverb, and weak timer beeps can affect detection, so verify all markers before export.

Does ShootingCut use the network?

Core video/audio analysis, editing, export, and person tracking run on device, and original footage is not uploaded to a ShootingCut media-processing server. Score import, subscription verification, your Apple iCloud services, detection improvement that is enabled by default but can be disabled, and user-initiated YouTube or Facebook uploads use the network. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I disable detection-improvement reports?

Turn off the inline editor control, which appears as “Improve Detection” or simply “Improve” depending on platform and layout; export settings use “Help Improve Gunshot Detection” as the full label. While disabled, no new reports are created and the local pending queue is not retried. Disabling does not erase reports already submitted or clear the existing local retry queue.

Do score import and social uploads require a connection?

Yes. Importing from supported result sources uses the network. A free Auto Trim workflow can use the system share sheet or choose one supported sharing destination at a time. YouTube and Facebook uploads require separate authorization, and Facebook direct upload publishes to a Page. Pro enables multi-platform sharing. ShootingCut 1.1.8 does not currently offer TikTok video direct upload.

Does one subscription cover my devices?

Yes. One subscription covers the subscriber’s Apple devices, subject to the App Store account and entitlement rules.
