The two inputs must describe the same event from different viewpoints. Seeing both angles can expose handling and movement that one view does not show clearly, while Split Sync keeps the proposed timeline and final alignment under the editor's review.

A synchronized POV and third-person composition can keep footwork, reloads, hard stops, movement, and stage strategy visible beside the first-person handling view. Choose Side by Side when both angles should remain visible left and right, or use a top-and-bottom or HUD layout for a portrait-oriented review.

Use two simultaneous recordings—not a sequence
Split Sync accepts exactly two videos. A typical pair might be a first-person view and a follow camera recorded during the same stage run.
If Stage 1 should play before Stage 2, use sequential Merge. If the same run has 2–3 role-assigned cameras and needs movement-aware switching, use Stage Mix.
Align, verify, and choose the composition
- Choose exactly two simultaneous recordings. Select two videos that show the same run from different viewpoints.
- Inspect each timer beep. Confirm that the start beep is present and identifiable in both audio tracks.
- Apply the proposed alignment. Let Split Sync use the timer-beep and surrounding audio evidence to place the two recordings on one synchronized timeline.
- Verify and correct sync. Preview a clear shared moment, compare the two views, and adjust the alignment if the proposed offset is not correct.
- Choose a layout and pane ratio. Select top-and-bottom Full Screen, Dual View: Center HUD, Dual View: Top HUD, or Side by Side. For a multi-angle top-and-bottom or HUD composition, choose 50/50, 40/60, or 30/70.
- Preview and export. Review the full synchronized run in the selected layout, then export the layout-controlled video.

The layout controls geometry. Split Sync uses its selected layout and a 1080-pixel short edge rather than arbitrary ratio-and-resolution combinations. The adjustable 50/50, 40/60, and 30/70 setting changes the top-and-bottom video areas in multi-angle Full Screen and HUD layouts; it does not turn Side by Side into an adjustable top-and-bottom layout.
Audio alignment is evidence to review
